Our dear, dear friends' daughter, Ellie, is having her Fontan tomorrow.
Alicen and Chris have been by our sides from before Sammy's birth. I met Alicen online shortly after Sammy's diagnosis, while we were both pregnant with HLHS babies. She was an amazing support as we faced the unknown, all four of us together thrown into this crazy world of CHDs. Then, we spent time together on the floor when Sammy and Ellie were recovering from their Norwoods at Children's Hospital Boston. (It was like college all over again, just at the hospital!) They've been by our sides every step of this journey, and while I know Ellie will kick Fontan butt, we know all too well what they're feeling right now.
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, specifically:
You are in our thoughts and hearts constantly. We love you guys!

Our friends' daughter, Grace, passed away unexpectedly yesterday. You may remember her from previous posts - she was the first to have a certain in-utero procedure to help with her HLHS and had made news all around the world. Some of you had emailed us to let us know you had seen the segment on CNN.
Grace had been doing really well, so this comes as a shock to everyone. She was five weeks old.
Jay and I are really struggling with this - both out of sadness for Grace's family and for the real-life reminder of what Sammy's up against. Please, please send some love, thoughts and prayers to Grace and her family - I can't imagine what they're going through.
