Our dear, dear friends' daughter, Ellie, is having her Fontan tomorrow.
Alicen and Chris have been by our sides from before Sammy's birth. I met Alicen online shortly after Sammy's diagnosis, while we were both pregnant with HLHS babies. She was an amazing support as we faced the unknown, all four of us together thrown into this crazy world of CHDs. Then, we spent time together on the floor when Sammy and Ellie were recovering from their Norwoods at Children's Hospital Boston. (It was like college all over again, just at the hospital!) They've been by our sides every step of this journey, and while I know Ellie will kick Fontan butt, we know all too well what they're feeling right now.
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, specifically:
You are in our thoughts and hearts constantly. We love you guys!
Yes, it's definitely great you guys and Ellie's family had someone to share this unwanted journey with. I hope Ellie is doing good. It kinda breaks my heart when I hear about other kids with such huge heart problems who have to have the Fontan.

How great that you've had someone to share every step of this journey with. Not that I wish anyone to have to experience the journey, but you know what I mean.
Prayers definitely being sent up for Ellie!
